Highland Park Tennis Courts

The facility has more than 10 adult courts plus several smaller courts for kids. The courts are outdoor hard courts that haven’t been renovated in about 5 years, resulting in multiple cracks and fractured surfaces that can cause tripping hazards. Nets are well maintained but heights are sometimes inconsistent.

There are lights on many courts allowing for nighttime play with lights turning on around 2:30pm and off by 10pm. The courts are outdoors, and while the environment is described as good vibes and relaxing, weekends can be noisy with nearby motorcycles and soccer fields.

It generally seems easy to get a court with plenty of availability, especially due to the number of courts. The courts are open to the public without mention of memberships or complex reservation systems. However, weekends can be crowded due to other park activities.

The Highland Park Tennis Association organizes lessons every Saturday and junior programs, providing a positive coaching presence that players appreciate. No specific coaches are named, but lessons for both juniors and kids are regularly available.

There is an active junior program run by the Highland Park Tennis Association, with special courts for younger kids and classes offered. Kids playing tennis here and the positive youth presence in turquoise shirts are noted as highlights.
