Leif Ericson Tennis Courts

The site has around 10 new outdoor hard courts that are well maintained, clean, and in excellent condition with no cracks reported. The courts have high-quality surface and adequate coverage, providing a nice playing experience.

Courts operate on a first-come, first-served basis and are free to the public. However, availability is a major issue as the courts are extremely crowded, especially during summer and weekday evenings. Many players find it very difficult to get a free court, with groups often hogging courts and some players reportedly cutting lines without permit checks.

Multiple tennis lessons and coaching sessions take up a significant portion of courts, especially in the summer, meaning about a third of courts can be reserved for lessons. While clinics are active, no specific coaches or programs are named.

The courts are outdoor with no lighting for evening play, so players must come and finish before dark. The area is described as safe with a friendly neighborhood environment, though windy conditions can be distracting due to lack of wind screens.

The community is friendly and players enjoy the social aspect, but the lack of management leads to chaotic situations, including court hogging and vandalism issues such as net cutting by local youths.
